Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Salestyr, Inc. ("Salestyr", "we") handles personal data when you visit our website, use the Salestyr service, or appear in data that our customers process with Salestyr.
1. Our role
For website visitors and for the people who sign up and use Salestyr, we decide how data is used and act as a controller.
For lead data our customers collect and manage in Salestyr, the customer decides how that data is used and is the controller. We process that data on the customer's instructions as a processor (a "service provider" under California law). If you are a lead and want to exercise your rights, you can contact the customer who reached out to you, or contact us and we will help.
2. Data we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account data | Name, work email, company, role, password hash | You |
| Billing data | Billing contact, address, last four digits of card, invoices | You and our payment processor |
| Connected account data | LinkedIn profile name and URL, session tokens, email account address, sending limits | You, when you connect an account |
| Lead data | Name, headline, company, location, public LinkedIn profile URL, public posts, comments and reactions that matched a tracked signal, work email where available | Public LinkedIn activity and enrichment providers, on the customer's instructions |
| Usage data | Pages viewed, features used, device, browser, IP address, log data | Automatically, from your use of the website and service |
| Communications | Support messages, survey answers, emails with us | You |
We do not intentionally collect special categories of personal data, and our Terms prohibit customers from using the service to do so.
3. How we use data
- to provide, operate and secure the service, including detecting signals, merging duplicate records and sending outreach you approve;
- to bill you and manage your subscription;
- to provide support and send service messages;
- to improve the service, for example by understanding which features are used;
- to send product updates and marketing to account users, which you can opt out of at any time;
- to comply with law and enforce our Terms.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on performance of a contract, our legitimate interests (running and improving a secure service, B2B marketing), consent where required, and legal obligations.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use lead data from one customer's workspace to benefit another customer.
4. AI features
Salestyr uses AI models to score leads and draft messages. Customer Data sent to model providers is used only to return results to you and is not used to train their models. When you connect an AI assistant through our MCP server, data the assistant retrieves is handled under that assistant provider's terms.
6. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your workspace is active. Lead data stays in a workspace until the customer deletes it or closes the workspace. After a workspace is closed, we delete Customer Data from active systems within 30 days and from backups within 90 days. We keep billing records as long as tax law requires.
7. Security
We protect data with encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest, role-based access, least-privilege access for staff, audit logging, regular backups and dependency monitoring. Connected account credentials are encrypted and never shown in the app. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process data there and in other countries where our sub-processors operate. When we transfer personal data from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we use safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of marketing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, email privacy@salestyr.com or use the options on our Privacy choices page. We respond within the time the law requires and may need to verify your identity. California residents can read our CCPA notice for more detail.
11. Children
Salestyr is a business service and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.
12. Changes and contact
We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. For material changes we will notify account owners by email.
